Solihull Navy’s took on Studley FC in an exciting, although tough, under-7s football match, home at Sills.
The game kicked off with Navy’s showing great passing and off the ball movement, early on saw James through on goal only to rebound off the post. The Navy’s continued to dominate play, with some great passing and dribbling skills on display, but couldn’t find a way through a strong defensive unit.
However, Studley FC fought back with some strong tackles, attacks of their own and managed to go in front with swift counter attack. The game became a back-and-forth affair with both teams putting up a great fight with some fine defending by Brokesy, Elijah and keeping by Archie.
As the first half came near to a close the Navy boys seemed to be getting getting a little overwhelmed by the opponents size and physicality… something they needed to overcome.

The Navy’s kept pressing and with some neat football from Pricey, who passed to Dunners who found Elijah slotted home from 8 yards out.
More good work continued with George causing havoc for the Studley team winning corner after corner. The Navy’s went close but couldn’t convert.
As time went on saw great play from Brookesy to Elijah to James to Dunners who struck the post!
Despite the pressure, Navy’s managed to take the lead thanks to a goal from James. The crowd cheered as the Navy’s celebrated. However, Studley FC was not to be outdone, and they fought back once again, managing to equalize with the last kick of the match with a powerful shot that was high and in the corner, un-saveable!
Overall, it was a fantastic display of football from both teams. The Navy’s showed great skill, determination and teamwork throughout the game. They can be proud of their efforts and look forward to their next match with confidence.
