Match Report: 26.03.2023 2pm Olton Ravens Away, U7 Friendly
After Kings Heath Warriors pulled out, our old friends Ravens stepped up to provide a friendly later in the day. It was great for those that could make it get a solid run out albeit against the Ravens subs.
George stepped up as Captain with his predecessor stepping up in fine fashion at Right Back. DPR looking very assured from the off. The top 2 George and Dunners causing havoc from the outset, with some great early chances. The Navys capitalized on their dominant start with Dunners scoring a fantastic great brace – battling well in attack and midfield. Ravens had a few chances themselves but generally shepherded well by Elijah and DPR, with Archie making a couple of great stops when they did penetrate the defence. HT Navys lead.
We discussed their shape at HT with their extra player in midfield (1-3 vs our 2-2) causing some difficulties at times. We switched DPR in goal, Dunners to RB and Archie to Right Forward.
The lads struggled to adapt and the Ravens made us pay, scoring twice in the first few minutes. It took a while for the Navys to settle but once they did we grew back into the game. Elijah dominated through out and Dunners grew into his defensive role.
After a few chances for Archie and George, Elijah finally broke the deadlock with a great strike from distance. The Navys showed great composure to see the game out with Dunners and DPR both coming to our rescue at the death 🦁
FT: Navys take the win
Goals: Dunners x 2, Elijah
MOTM: Elijah
POTW: DPR
Next week we play Sutton Coldfield Reds who lost a close game vs Ravens today having led throughout. They are well drilled and capable and we will need to be at our very best without MB and JS to win.
No training next Saturday as Chris is away and I am at Chelsea so we will do our work in the week to ensure we are prepared UTN
