Super Sunday saw Solihull Navy’s triple header against Sutton Coldfield Town and Sheldon Royals.
First up Sutton Town which saw Navy’s start slowly and found themselves down at half time in a very close contest. The Navy’s rallied after the break but in pushing forward, looking for the equaliser found themselves exposed at the back and eventually went down.
Second up came Sheldon Royals, a gifted U7 team. A close fought first half saw an improvement from the boys in the away green kit. Ever-reliable Elijah and Dunners scored, which saw the Navy’s lead at half time, aided by some excellent keeping from Poulters and strong tackling from Brookesy.
The second half was a battle as the Navy’s got tough with strong performances from Archie and George, who were all over the pitch. Not to be outdone, a man of the match performance from James, with his stamina and vision, and spirit of the Navy’s outing by a dogged and relentless Pricey kept the Royals at bay! But it was not to be, in the last second of the match the Royals scored a wonder goal to leave honours even.
Uncharacteristic display from the Navy’s who took a while to get going!
They will be back stronger and hungrier in next weeks challenge.
