Solihull Navy’s thrilling encounter with Mayfly Tigers delivered a memorable football spectacle. The Navy’s began strongly but found themselves trailing X-X against the run of play. However, the impressive Archie rallied his team with a goal. Unfortunately, the Tigers extended their lead to X-X.
But then, the game took a dramatic turn as Elijah unleashed a quickfire hat-trick, including a thunderous long-range strike that catapulted the Navy’s ahead. From that moment, Navy’s never looked back and exhibited exceptional teamwork from defense to attack.
Poulters, with a remarkable triple save and a wonder goal from long range, showcased his versatility. Pricey demonstrated tremendous determination and flair, James displayed his skill and poise, and Archie’s precise distribution and eye for goal were crucial. Dunners excelled in both tackling and scoring, while George delivered a defensive masterclass both as a goalkeeper and outfield player.
What delighted the onlooking coaches was the diversity of contributions. Assists flowed from all parts of the pitch, with 2 by Arch, 1 by Poulters, 2 by Pricey, 1 by Elijah, 1 from James, and 2 by Dunners. Goals were equally distributed, with Elijah securing a hat-trick, Dunners netting a brace, and Poulters, Archie, James, and Pricey all getting on the scoresheet.
Ultimately, Solihull Navy’s dominance prevailed. The comfortable scoreline was maintained thanks to excellent marshalling and saves by the impressive George in goal.
This match was a testament to the complete team performance from the boys, providing a solid foundation to build upon for the future.
The support, as always, was passionate and gave the lads a rousing applause as they left the pitch. It was great to see the sidelined Brooksey and chief sponsor Tez attend to support the boys.
Well done the Navyβs πππ
